Saturday, May 28, between 10-20, took place the third edition of the Photo Fair organized by ErKE Transylvanian Lightpainers Association, at the Art Gallery of Central Shopping Center, Cluj.
Organized this time during FIAF International Festival of Photographic Art and Cluj Days, the Photo Fair enjoyed a very wide audience who had the opportunity to see and test the latest photo equipment, studio equipment as well as collection cameras and enjoyed the promotional offers of the exhibitors.
The star of the fair was the latest release from Fujifilm FinePix x100 who charmed everyone with its vintage design that hides under the peak of digital technology. The camera was exhibited by F64 which offered many gifts and discount coupons for visitors.
Marius Rus provoked us to a peek into the history of cameras with his exhibition of over 30 collection pieces belonging to 5 collectors from Cluj. Glass plate cameras, medium format, cameras used in photojournalism in the interwar period and World War II, Mikoma spying cameras and the famous Voigtlander Bressa II Hitler's and Ann Brown's favorite. The pieces of the collection, dating from 1890 (the oldest) and originating from Czech Republic, Japan, USA, DDR, URSS, amazed the audience with their scarcity and diversity.
Quantuum Romania launched its range of professional studio equipment, offering visitors the opportunity to test and experiment with studio photography, meeting customers with promotional offers and discount coupons. At the Quantuum's stand also took place the breathlessly awaited event the announcement of winners of the Portrait contest and their award. After deliberation, the jury, composed of Daniel Ilinca, Sebi Vaida and Soós Attila, decided that the winners were:
Third Place - Roberta Enache (Bucharest)
Second Place - Liviu Mihai (Vâlcea)
First Place - Lorand Peli (Cluj)
For the first 13 finishers, Quantuum organized an exhibition that could be viewed during the fair and will continue to be exposed until the end of FIAF at LightHouse Studio (Union Square no 4-5)
Later on, at 17 o'clock, Voicu Bojan presented Brooks Jensen's book 'Random Observation on Potoraphy, Art and Creativity'.
Photo Gear introduced Kata and Manfrotto rangers and offered a Manfrotto tripod by drawing for the participants in the mobile photo exhibition on the Boulevard of Heroes that ushered in FIAF, on May 27.
Nikon, Photo Point and Gilmobil were also among the exhibitors. The Photo Fair enjoyed the participation of individuals as well, who exposed for selling photographic cameras and lenses as well as photographs.
We thank the Central Shopping Center in Cluj which provided us such a generous platform and to all the contributors and participants.
We look forward to seeing you all at the next edition of the Photo Fair!
